So are you planning on making the pop up sleeping area removable? Or is it always going to be attached? I think if it's always going to be attached the savings you would get from using 2x4 may not be worth difference in structural integrity you would get out of having an all aluminum frame.
I’ll keep the sleeping platform attached so I can use the interior stand up aspect of the truck bed.
I’m concerned with the ability to insulate the camper. 1 or 2” foam board attaches easily to the wooden frame. I’ve not seen much insulation in the aluminum builds.
Will you have plans or kits for the 2022 Ram 1500’s? Or would I need to adjust your plans to the Ram’s dimensions?
I have had some success with adding in 1" foam insulation between the frame and aluminum composite material. If you keep the ACM white it works pretty well by itself but not great. You would need to adjust the plans to accommodate a RAM 1500. For the changes that need to be made for the camper could you measure a few things for me?? The length of the bed rails, the width between the bed rails, and the height necessary to clear the roof of the truck.
